Kelly Steller Hrad is a contemporary abstract painter who expresses her thoughts on canvas through multiple mediums from acrylic to 3-dimensional oil and beyond. Her artwork is an expression of life through color and lines that captivate the eye with rich vivid layers. Her distinctive style exudes joy and peace, and expresses a vibrant spirit that emanates off the canvas.
For Kelly, art is a lifelong journey. She has always loved color, creating, imagining, and exploring the arts. Growing up there were countless road trips that offered the time to appreciate the art of nature, architecture, museums, and galleries. As the miles rolled by from sunrise to sunset, Kelly took in the mountains, valleys, canyons, and prairies. Stashing these stunning visuals away in her memory. Decades later she now draws on those memories to inspire her work.
Kelly’s hope is that her journey will create a pause, a connection, and a conversation that enhances someone else's journey.
Exhibitions and Galleries
Kelly's work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions, including Colorful Journey at Goodrich Gallery in Dallas, TX, and Make Room for Color and Life in Color at the ArtCentre of Plano in Plano, TX. Other notable solo exhibitions include Color Brick Road at Baker University Galleries in Baldwin City, KS.
In addition to solo exhibitions, Kelly’s art has been displayed in several regional exhibitions across Texas, including Richardson, Frisco, Lewisville, Rockwall, Texarkana, and Irving. On a national level, her work has been selected for exhibitions in California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, New Mexico, and Virginia.
Kelly’s work has also been prominently featured in prestigious corporate installations, including commissioned pieces at Louis Vuitton in Legacy West, Plano, TX, and Lamborghini Headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy. She has completed numerous commissioned works for corporate offices, retail spaces, and private residences, further expanding the reach and impact of her art in diverse, high-profile settings.
